The garden is located in the wonderful natural park of Mondragó, in the southeast of Mallorca. In this park, constructive elements such as dry stone walls and native vegetation have an important role in the garden’s concept. The fact that we were able to use the surrounding landscape as part of the garden ensured a large part of the project’s success.

One of the potential aspects of this site was integrating the local species into the garden: mastic trees, phyllireas, rhamnus, rosemary, euphorbias, wild olive trees and many other options, allowing us to create a combination of plants in harmony with the landscape. In contrast, the natural park is being threatened by the problem of invasive species, a problem that we should not increase.

The use of exotic species in gardens is common in the projects we carry out, always in consideration of their invasive potential, which must be controlled within the garden and not spread outside it, achieving an aesthetic and functional objective in accordance with the proposed concept.

Gravel paths, whose characteristic sound when walking on them, the lighting it gives off and its arid aesthetics in accordance with Mediterranean gardens, enhance the combination of plants and materials selected in the construction of the house. The pine bark flowerbeds in the farthest areas of the house provide the necessary contrast and balance, as well as a better connection with the landscape.
